THE NUTCRACKER SUITE Comes to Life with Full Orchestra at Patchogue Theatre This Weekend

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) is proud to announce the return of Ovations Dance Repertory Company's production of THE NUTCRACKER SUITE featuring The Atlantic Wind Symphony for its sixteenth year at Patchogue Theatre this December.

THE NUTCRACKER SUITE by Ovations Dance Repertory Company is choreographed by Orlando Peña with lavish costumes, brilliant sets and music that will have everyone singing along. The talented dancers of Ovations Dance Repertory Company will be accompanied by a live 25-piece orchestra, The Atlantic Wind Symphony, to bring you the vision of the glittering dancers and the sounds of the famous Tchaikovsky score that will delight your senses and stay with you forever.

The world-renowned Syzokryli Ukranian Dance Ensemble, under Orlando Peña's artistic direction, will be rejoining this year's production. This strong and passionate ensemble is internationally recognized for its artistry and prowess. As an added treat, "Indian Spice" will celebrate the multicultural flavor of Bhangra music and Indian dance in this very special Nutcrackerproduction.

Life-sized toy soldiers will captivate your attention and leave children cheering in their seats. The many toys that are brought to life are accompanied by enchanted trees that reach heights beyond your imagination. Experience Patchogue Theatre for Performing Arts as it turns into an enchanting storybook world for each performance. Ovations Dance Repertory Company's "The NutcrackerSuite" is a ballet like no other with numerous surprises throughout the show.

Full performances of THE NUTCRACKER SUITE will be held today, Dec. 12, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. and tomorrow, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. A special one-hour performance will be held onFriday, Dec. 11 for school-aged children. Discounted rates are available for large groups, including Boy and Girl Scout troops that can earn a fun patch by attending the performance. Patchogue Theatre first opened in 1923 as the largest theatre in Suffolk County. It still is, with 1,166 seats. Saved by Village of Patchogue in 1996 and lovingly restored it to its original grandeur, this beautiful and historic venue was in use 230 days with over 140,000 in attendance for its 2014-2015 season. PTPA is an independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that leases the building from the Village of Patchogue and covers all of the operating costs without any subsidies from the Village. PTPA's leadership consists of a volunteer board of directors and a small professional staff. Patchogue Theatre continues to thrive thanks to the hard work of over 80 volunteers as well as the businesses, funding agencies and individuals who support PTPA by contributing their time and resources.
