Repertory Dance Theatre presents a special concert designed to entertain children of all ages. In their 49th year, RDT will perform the fun and refreshing concert by choreographer, Tim Hadel, SURPRISE PACKAGES. The show is inspired by rhymes, games, puzzles and hijinks to delight audiences from age 3-103. To kick off the holiday season, RDT will offer this gift to the community with tickets just $10, or $40 for a family of 5.

A father of two sons, Tim Hadel started creating wonderful family entertainment in New York City in the late 1980s. He brings a wit and an understanding of children to his choreography. The music will have a familiar ring as Tim gives traditional songs from the nursery a 1990's treatment and adds a new slant to "BaBa Blacksheep".

The dancers will experiment with props...balls, boxes, scarves, paper, chairs and materials that inspire choreography. You will enjoy the action as they build cardboard box mazes and illusions filled with surprise. Rolling office chairs give mobility to performers who show their ballroom dance skills with a synchronized Viennese Waltz on wheels. Some slight of hand magic and a Rubix Cube puzzle add to this "kid friendly" event.

Don't resist the urge to sing and tap your toes. The music is popular, the rhythms are syncopated and the mood is light and bright. SURPRISE PACKAGES is the perfect way to kick-off the holiday season with the whole family.

The same weekend, RDT will also present film-maker, Mitchell Rose in THE MITCH SHOW. More information at www.rdtutah.org.
