Colorado Ballet will light up the stage with The Nutcracker, November 30 through December 28, 2013 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. This holiday tradition features classic choreography after Marius Petipa paired with Tchaikovsky's score performed live by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. Check out a first look below!

This year's production marks the 53rd year that Colorado Ballet's The Nutcracker has been a part of Colorado's holiday celebration. The Nutcracker features memorable characters including Clara, the Nutcracker Prince and the Sugarplum Fairy as well as dazzling costumes and scenery by José Varona.

"The holidays are not complete until you join us for The Nutcracker, it is a must-see for children and adults," said Colorado Ballet Artistic Director Gil Boggs. "The enchantment of our dancers and extraordinary live music will transport your entire family to the Land of Sweets."

More than 60 students from the Colorado Ballet Academy will join Colorado Ballet's professional company on stage as polichinelles, party children, soldiers, angels, and sugarplum attendants.
