Pacific Northwest Ballet Presents SEASON ENCORE PERFORMANCE

The curtain comes down on Pacific Northwest Ballet's 2016-2017 season with its annual Season Encore Performance, a crowd-pleasing reprise of some of PNB's greatest hits. The evening celebrates the careers of PNB's departing principal dancers Carrie Imler and Batkhurel Bold. The program will feature PNB's entire Company, along with the world famous PNB Orchestra under the baton of Music Director/Principal Conductor Emil de Cou. Highlights of the evening will include reprises of two of this season's works, Benjamin Millepied's 3 Movements, and Christopher Wheeldon's Carousel (A Dance). Other selections for the evening include excerpts from Kent Stowell's Cinderella and Swan Lake, George Balanchine's Theme and Variations, and Twyla Tharp's Nine Sinatra Songs. The line-up will also include the premiere of "Folly" à deux, a pièce d'occasion choreographed by Kiyon Gaines for Ms. Imler and fellow principal dancer Jonathan Porretta.

"For more than twenty years, in thousands of classes, rehearsals and performances, Carrie Imler and Batkhurel Bold have helped to build and define the reputation of this company," said PNB Artistic Director Peter Boal. "It's virtually impossible to represent the numerous roles these two have performed or the many dear memories they have given us. For their farewell performance I left the decision to Carrie and Bold: Their selections are a modest sampling of two illustrious careers. Nonetheless we'll see Carrie's pristine technique, unmatched musicality and sharp humor. We'll see Bold as chivalrous partner, gallant prince and gravity-defying dynamo. Carrie and Bold are two of the most respected and beloved dancers in our company. Join us in a fitting tribute to these two inspiring artists."
