National Ballet Of Canada To Tour San Francisco and Hamburg In 2018

Karen Kain, Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, today announced that the company will tour to San Francisco and Hamburg in 2018.

The company will perform Nijinsky during San Francisco Ballet's 2017/18 season, appearing onstage April 3 - 8, 2018 for seven performances. The National Ballet last performed in the Bay Area in 2008 during San Francisco Ballet's 75th anniversary season.

The National Ballet tours to Hamburg for the 44th Hamburg Ballet Days, a two-week festival of dance, for two performances July 3 - 4, 2018. The company will perform an all-Canadian mixed programme featuring The Dreamers Ever Leave You by Choreographic Associate Robert Binet, James Kudelka's The Man in Black and Crystal Pite's Emergence. This will be the company's first appearance in Hamburg since 1994.

The company will be performing the Canadian premiere of A Streetcar Named Desire by John Neumeier, The Hamburg Ballet's Director and Chief Choreographer, in the upcoming Summer Season June 3 - 10, 2017 and will be touring Nijinsky, also choreographed by Mr. Neumeier, to Paris, France in October 2017.
