Nashville Ballet will open its 2013-2014 performance season by taking audiences on a magical trip to Neverland in the classic fairytale Peter Pan, October 18-20. Peter Pan, presented by Bridgestone America's Trust Fund and nFocus Magazine, will be held at TPAC's Jackson Hall for four performances, Oct. 18 - 20, 2013. Tickets start at $35 and can be purchased in person at the TPAC box office in downtown Nashville, by phone at (615) 782-4040 or at www.NashvilleBallet.com.

In this brand new presentation of the childhood favorite, Nashville Ballet will tell the story of the boy who doesn't want to grow up in the grand-scale tradition of a classical ballet production. Complete with Lost Boys, Captain Hook, and Tinker Bell, Peter Pan will debut original choreography from Nashville Ballet Artistic Director & CEO Paul Vasterling, as well as custom sets and costumes from Campbell Baird, who also designed costumes for holiday favorite,Nashville's Nutcracker.

"This is a tale that appeals to children and adults," Vasterling said. "It is perfect for children because it's such a fantastic fairytale, with magical characters on an epic adventure. It appeals to adults as well, because it's about our longing for childhood, a time that fills us with nostalgia that we can never revisit."

The production, the majority of which will be built locally, will also feature an extended youth cast from School of Nashville Ballet as fairies, sprites and mermaids who greet Peter and Wendy on their adventure through Neverland.

Vasterling plans to complete the magic in this ambitious undertaking by incorporating on-stage flight for Peter, Wendy and other characters in the whimsical cast.
