On Friday, May 31-Sunday, June 2 at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood, Luminario Ballet of Los Angeles will premiere "BRACE... Yourself", a flying dance experience-an exclusive dance theater piece choreographed by Debra Lynne Brown, Emmy Award winning choreographer of 13 Cirque du Soleil shows.

Brown's works include O, Mystere, Zumanity, La Nouvelle Experience, and Celine Dion's Colour of My Love TouR. Brown's "BRACE... Yourself" is a vivid contemporary dance adventure on a plane. Another piece in the show, "Firebird Rising", is a multimedia ballet, aerial, and puppetry piece with music combining Stravinsky's score and electronic, choreographed by Judith FLEX-Helle.

Two new aerial duets, "Apogee by Womack and Bowman and "Vesica Pisces" by Acevedo and Sapetto, and several repertory pieces will dazzle the audience for an unforgettable show. Additional works to be presented include Lewitzky Dance Company's "TURF", Jamal Story's "If the Walls Could Scream", FLEX-Helle's award nominated "Lift Ticket" and excerpts from LedZAerial.

Judith FLEX-Helle, Managing and Artistic Director of Luminario Ballet, said, "This show will be one not to forget. Our dancers will dazzle with amazing performances that will leave people breathless. We want people to see how dedicated our company is to achieving this vibrant and highly visible style of dance. We want people to continue to be thrilled by our work, to become dance enthusiasts and become supporters of this spectacular art form."

Luminario Ballet just opened the Miami Dance Festival April 5th 2013 to rave reviews and standing ovations-this show will give the Los Angeles community a wonderful opportunity to view the magic of aerial and contemporary ballet and enjoy what the Miami audience was so excited to see.

Luminario Ballet, which began in 2008, has had great success with their development as a company and continues to grow every year. They have guested at places as lofty as the LA Philharmonic to festivals such as The Pasadena Dance Festival, the Laguna Dance Festival, and CALARTS Commuter Festival, along with their annual repertory shows. This new type of contemporary ballet keeps audiences coming back for more.

FLEX-Helle said, "Los Angeles is still building its audience for contemporary dance, music, and theater. Luminario Ballet's talented choreographers aim to present the best collaboration of classical/contemporary dance with aerial ballet to give our audience a unique and memorable show. We will present a national/international dance concert experience which we can also export to other cities, like the Miami Dance Festival, confident that our city is well represented."

Tickets are available for purchase online at https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/pr/921762. Prices range from $30-$40 and tickets for students who have a valid ID are $15. El Portal is located at Main Stage Theatre 5269 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood, Calif.

Luminario Ballet is a contemporary ballet company that fuses classic modern ballet and dance with aerial ballet based in Los Angeles, California. Choreographers range from classical ballet to contemporary, to aerial a la Cirque du Soleil.

Luminario was founded in December 2008 with a foundation grant from the Charles Evans Foundation. With choreographers Judith FLEX-Helle's "LedZAerial" and Alexandre Magno (So You Think You Can Dance), a wide range of vibrant performances have been taking place since 2010.
