Live at the 'bolt presents Dances for a Small Stage: Summer Lovin' in association with the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts on June 20 and 21 at 8pm. The MovEnt production brings a wildly eclectic group of dance artists and musicians to animate the Shadbolt Centre's beautifully manicured South Lawn with a dazzling range of original creations. The evening will also mark Lower Mainland dance audiences' first opportunity to see fan-favourite Makaila Wallace perform in her own creation since her January departure from Ballet BC.

"One of Small Stage's main goals has always been to push boundaries - both those of our artists and of ourselves," says MovEnt Artistic Producer Julie-anne Saroyan. "So when the Shadbolt Centre approached us with the notion of an outdoor event, I couldn't possibly say no! I think audiences will be delighted to see how these thoughtful and creative performers rise to the challenge."

Inspired by the surging euphoria that accompanies the beginning of summer, the participating artists have been asked to explore Deer Lake Park and the splendor of the outdoors in the development of their creations for this whimsical installment.

In addition to these original creations, the event will also highlight some of the work being created under MovEnt's ongoing Community Stages project.

The full roster of participating artists includes: Makaila Wallace & Simone Orlando, Maggie Forgeron (all formerly of Ballet BC), Karissa Barry. Thoenn Glover, Julie Chapple, Lina Fitzner & Caroline LIffmann, and tap dancer Dayna Szyndrowski with musicians Elisa Thorn (harp), Shanto Acharia (cello), Meredith Bates (violin), and Britt MacLeod (vocals).

The stellar assortment was assembled by event curator and MovEnt Artistic Producer Julie-anne Saroyan.
