Suspicious Spaces (April 17-May 10, Press night: April 24, 8:00 pm)
Suspicious Spaces features House of Ballet (1993), a work considered one of Mateo's quirkiest yet most engaging. Follow the alluring tale of a maniacal balletomane who abducts the object of his desire, set to Alfred Schnittke's Gogal Suite. The fast-paced, dynamicFearless Symmetries (2008), set to John Adams' Fearful Symmetries, features a young woman swept by the appeal of contemporary urban life and then overwhelmed by its very unpredictable forces. Mateo's highly anticipated premiere of the season is set to Beethoven'sSonata No. 2 in G Minor for piano and cello.

More than just "going to the ballet", Mateo's concerts offer a thrilling live dance theater experience designed for today's audiences. Named one of Massachusetts' 1,000 Great Places to Visit, the stunning Sanctuary Theatre offers an extraordinary close up view of the dancers with cabaret-style seating and cocktails during the show. See ballet in a new light and be part of the drama, passion, and beauty on stage at the spectacular performance space in Old Cambridge Baptist Church, a National Historic Landmark
