José Mateo Ballet Theatre offers two remarkable concerts to help Boston audiences make it through the New England winter. The Company's 29th Season continues with two concerts of stunning original ballet by New England 's celebrated dance-maker, José Mateo, at The Sanctuary Theatre in Harvard Square .

Works of Love (tonight, Feb.6-22) warms up winter's chill with three powerful ballets that explore the intensity, emotion and playfulness of human relationships. As the weather warms, Mateo heats things up with Transient Currents (March 13-29), featuring a Cuban-inspired audience all-time favorite and two ballets that embody Mateo's knack for spellbinding storytelling.

"If you are looking for a memorable event that will surprise you in unexpected ways, then see us at The Sanctuary Theatre, a unique venue that will change the way you think about performance dance," says Artistic Director José Mateo. "Experience close-up, live theatre that will transport and maybe even transform you."

More than just "going to the ballet", Mateo's concerts offer a thrilling live dance theater experience designed for today's audiences. Named one of Massachusetts ' 1,000 Great Places to Visit, the stunning Sanctuary Theatre offers an extraordinary close up view of the dancers with cabaret-style seating and cocktails during the show. See ballet in a new light and be part of the drama, passion, and beauty on stage at the spectacular performance space in Old Cambridge Baptist Church , a National Historic Landmark

Works of Love (February 6-22, 2015. Press night: Feb. 13, 8:00 pm)
Works of Love features a Cuban-inspired favorite, Danzones Balleticos (2004) a flirty and fun venture into Cuban social dance set to various Cuban composers. Hailed as "glorious" and "elegant" after its recent premiere, Released (2014) is set to the Ferruccio Busoni/Bach Concerto for Keyboard and Strings in D Minor. Sound Secrets (2010) features a woman haunted by her own guilt about her disloyalty to a lover who is himself unashamedly disloyal, to the music Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion, by Béla Bartok.
