Hubbard Street Dance Chicago's 11th Annual BOLD MOVES FOR BOLD WOMEN Event Raises Over $60,000
Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, one of the world's premier contemporary dance companies, with honorary event chair Aurora Abella-Austriaco, immediate past president of the Chicago Bar Association, honorary event chair Pamela Cullerton, wife of Illinois Senate President John J. Cullerton, event chair and Hubbard Street board member Sarah J. Nolan, and a 23-member committee welcomed more than 250 guests to Baker & McKenzie, LLP overlooking Millennium Park on Thursday, March 13, 2014 for Hubbard Street's 11th annual Bold Moves for Bold Women event.
The cocktail party, art auction and fundraiser, celebrating female leadership in business and the arts, was immediately followed by the opening-night performance of Hubbard Street's critically acclaimed, nearly sold-out Spring Series at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, featuring four works by Czech choreographer Ji?í Kylián: Sarabande (1990) and Falling Angels (1989) - both Hubbard Street premieres - and revivals of Kylián's 27'52'' (2002) and Petite Mort (1991).
Bold Moves for Bold Women 2014 at Baker & McKenzie (300 East Randolph Street, 50th floor) successfully raised more than $60,000 for Hubbard Street's education, community and artistic programs. Three Chicago-based, female artists created unique works inspired by Hubbard Street's dancers, for a One of a Kind silent auction: Lindsey French, Kellen Walker, and fashion designer Kahindo Mateene (Season 12 contestant, Project Runway).
Bold Moves for Bold Women sponsors included Diversity Partner Baker & McKenzie, LLP; Lead Sponsors Deloitte, Exelon, and Elizabeth Yntema Ferguson and Mark Ferguson; Contributing Sponsor Arnstein & Lehr, LLP; Event Sponsors AT&T, Clark Hill PLC, HBK Engineering LLC, PhRMA, Citizens for John Cullerton, and Meg and Tim Callahan; Catering Sponsor Chef Fredy; Spirits Sponsor Tito's Handmade Vodka, and Graphic Design Sponsor Communiqué Graphic Design.
