DanceWorks Chicago Set for Harris Theater's EAT + DRINK TO THE BEAT, 5/7

DanceWorks Chicago (DWC), under the direction of Andreas Böttcher and Julie Nakagawa, will return to the Harris Theater for Music and Dance on Wednesday, May 7 at 5:30PM for the third Eat + Drink to the Beat of the Theater's 2013-2014 season. The Harris Theater launched the inaugural Eat + Drink to the Beat performance with a program by DanceWorks Chicago this past January. The award-winning dance ensemble will once again present new works of the company repertoire, including aman, choreographed by Ruth Page Award winner Harrison McEldowney and aerial dance specialist Jeremy Plummer, and the Chicago premiere of self-portrait of a woman by Stuttgart Ballet Resident Choreographer Demis Volpi. Patrons will have the opportunity to enjoy cocktails specially created for the evening, and food from some of Chicago's most popular food trucks.

The May 7 program will also feature Nocturnal Sense, a work for the full company created for DWC in 2011 by Les Ballet Jazz de Montréal company member James Gregg, set to music by Antonio Vivaldi; Kristofer Storey, formerly of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, brings I Wantchu Kool Cuz U Blow My Mind; and Monologue by rising local choreographer Joshua Manculich, who was a member of the inaugural group of Dance Moves choreographers.

Tickets for Eat + Drink to the Beat are $5, available at HarrisTheaterChicago.org, or by calling the Box Office at 312.334.7777.
