Colorado Ballet to Host Queen of Hearts Ball, Featuring Tom Wopat, 2/25/16

DENVER - Colorado Ballet will host the "Queen of Hearts Ball," an Alice in Wonderland-themed gala at 5:30 p.m. on February 25, 2016 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. The evening's entertainment will include a performance by Colorado Ballet dancers performing sections from the ballet Alice (in Wonderland). In addition, Tom Wopat, who began his career as Luke Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard and went on to become a Tony-nominated Broadway singer, television and movie actor will perform live.

Two of Wopat's songs will be accompanied by a performance by Colorado Ballet dancers, with new choreography by Sandra Brown, Colorado Ballet's Ballet Mistress and Choreographer. In addition to the live entertainment, the ball will include cocktails, appetizers, a silent auction and a three-course meal by Kevin Taylor in the Chambers Grant Salon. The event will conclude with dancing on the stage of the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Colorado Ballet will also pay tribute to Honorary Queen of Hearts Ball Chair and Board Member, Joanne Posner-Mayer during the event.

"I'm thrilled about Tom Wopat as entertainment at the Queen of Hearts Ball," said Susan Stiff, Colorado Ballet Corporate Development Officer. "He has performed in Denver in Annie, Get Your Gun at the Buell Theatre as well as at a recent performance at Augustana Arts. He is an absolutely terrific entertainer!"

Tickets are $100 for young professionals (does not include dinner), $300 for individuals before January 1, $350 for individuals after January 1, $450 for VIP until January 1, and $500 after January 1. About Tom Wopat

Thrust into the national consciousness by his role in the iconic TV show, The Dukes of Hazzard, Tom Wopat has enjoyed a long and varied career -he has starred in a dozen Broadway shows, including Tony-nominated roles in Annie, Get Your Gun and Catered Affair, and worked in several different films, most recently Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained.
