Baboró, Ireland's flagship international arts festival for children and families, is delighted to announce one of the highlights of the 2015 programme. The award-winning CoisCéim Dance Theatre will celebrate their 20th anniversary with its first-ever production for children and their families. The Wolf and Peter is a re-imagination of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, one of the most famous pieces of music ever written. It will receive its world premiere in Galway this October.

This classic story has been interpreted by many artists from Disney to the Marx Brothers and won a Grammy award for Bill Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachov and Sofia Loren. CoisCéim Dance Theatre now bring this timeless story of courage and imagination to the stage this autumn. And this time... the story is also told through the eyes of the Wolf. Filled with dance and live music, this fun and richly theatrical adaptation by David Bolger brings the classic characters Bird, Cat, Duck, Grandfather, Hunters, Peter, and of course the 'Wolf' to life.

Peter and the Wolf was a musical score originally written as an engaging way to introduce children to the instruments of the orchestra. For this production, the extraordinary pianist Conor Linehan will play both the classic score and his own new compositions live on stage. The Wolf and Peter will take children, and their families, on a thrilling adventure to explore and discover contemporary dance and performance at its best.
