Boston Ballet Sets Cast for Lincoln Center Engagement, 6/25-29

Boston Ballet today announced casting for the Company's upcoming engagement at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. This tour will mark the final performances of Boston Ballet's 50th season, featuring two diverse programs June 25-29, 2014.

Program 1 consists of William Forsythe's The Second Detail, José Martinez's Resonance, and Alexander Ekman's Cacti. While both Forsythe and Ekman's pieces are powerful ensemble works, Martinez's Resonance will be lead by Dusty Button, Lia Cirio, Lasha Khozashvili, and Alejandro Virelles. Program 1 will be presented on June 25 at 7:30 PM, June 26 at 7:30 PM, and June 29 at 7:30 PM.

Program 2 features Vaslav Nijinsky's Afternoon of a Faun, George Balanchine's Symphony in Three Movements, Jorma Elo's Plan to B, and Ji?í Kylián's Bella Figura. Altan Dugaraa and Erica Cornejo will lead Nijinsky's Afternoon of a Faun on June 27 at 8:00 PM and June 28 at 2:00 PM. Dugaraa will perform with Ashley Ellis for the final performance of Afternoon of a Faun on June 28 at 8:00 PM.

Balanchine's Symphony in Three Movements will be lead by Lia Cirio and Lasha Khozashvili, Misa Kuranaga and Jeffrey Cirio, and Rie Ichikawa and Bradley Schlagheck. Kathleen Breen Combes and John Lam replace Lia Cirio and Lasha Khozashvili on June 28 at 2:00 PM, and Isaac Akiba replaces Jeffrey Cirio on June 28 at 8:00 PM. Elo's Plan to B and Kylián's Bella Figura each feature ensemble casting. Program 2 will be presented on June 27 at 8:00 PM, and June 28 at 2:00 PM and 8:30 PM.
