BoSoma Dance Company to Perform PLUG IN, BUTTERFLY EFFECT at Boston University Dance Theater, 11/6-7

BoSoma Dance Company performs its annual fall show at the Boston University Dance Theater on November 6th & 7th. Irada Djelassi and Katherine Hooper, BoSoma's Artistic Directors, are proud to introduce, PLUG IN. A collaborative new work based on the impact of technology in our everyday lives. Inspired by the movie, HER, as well as the life of Steve Jobs and his desire to make us more connected by offering technology that functions as an extension of our selves. Resident choreographer, Lindsey Leduc, formally of Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, has also contributed a section titled FaceTime, to this new work.

BoSoma will also debut Katherine Hooper's new work, BUTTERFLY EFFECT. An invigorating piece of choreography that forces the dancers to adapt to small unexpected changes all while in constant flow as a collective group. The company will be performing new work by Irada Djelassi, as well as, two pieces from the company's repertory.

Continuing with the tradition of supporting young, local dancers, this year's opening act introduces STREETPUNX. Under the direction of StreetHype's Artistic Director, Tony Tucker, SteetPunx offers teens the opportunity to perform throughout the community and train with talented artists.

Come experience somatic work as BoSoma incorporates technical dance, intricate movements, and everyday human interaction into the complex piece, Plug In. Watch as the dancers climb scaffolding, take phone calls and send emails, all while performing compound choreography. Take a moment to be in the moment and experience the value of the human touch.
