5) BWW Interview: Dante Brown and the DB/WD WORKSHOP

Dante Brown/Warehouse Dance (DB/WD) will be hosting its first annual workshop May 19-21, 2017 at the Gowanus Loft in Brooklyn, NY. Over the course of three days, professional artists (ages 18 and over) will be able to interact with a range of choreographers who are leaders in the dance community, making provocative work. The artists will lead a workshop based on their choreographic interests as well as share excerpts of their work in an evening performance. Partial proceeds from the program will be donated to the Black Lives Matter movement.. (more...)

Centenary Stage Company's 2017 Dance Festival continues with a celebration of the 10 year anniversary of Moe-tion Dance Theater on Sunday, March 26 at 4pm in the Lackland Performing Arts Center. Moe-tion Dance Theater was established in 2007. As one of New Jersey's premier dance companies. Moe-tion Dance Theater is under the artistic direction of Maureen Glennon who has been teaching dance since the age of sixteen and continues to share her love of dance with a new generation of dancers. The company is dedicated to experimenting and creating new forms of expression. Moe-tion Dance Theater is known for their diverse repertory and site- specific work. They have performed at numerous festivals, showcases and venues throughout the tri- state area including DUMBO Dance Festival, Cool NY Dance Festival, 2016 Mason Gross Summer Series, SWEAT Outdoors Festival, Outlet Dance Project at Grounds for Sculpture and many other astounding performances throughout the tri- state. 8) BWW Review: CIRQUE DU SOLEIL'S OVO at HEB Center In Cedar Park is Family Friendly Thrills and Laughs

Cirque du Soleil's OVO, currently playing at the HEB Center in Cedar Park is an immersive family friendly evening of acrobatic thrills wrapped up is a sweet and funny clown bug love story. The show is a look at an insect ecosystem teeming with life. The acrobats are dressed as insects and the acts, which are tied together by the clowns storylines of looking for the egg and the lady bug's suitors, results in a non-stop story of insects working, playing, fighting and looking for love. Among the exciting visuals in this fast paced dazzler of an entertainment are foot jugglers who, as ants, juggle gigantic kiwi fruit and ears of corn; trampoline artists dressed crickets leaping off and on a high wall; a silk artist who uses the silks to show a butterfly transforming from cocoon state and trapeze artists in a stunning aerial act.
