BALAM Dance Theatre (BALAM) brings Bali to New York this fall in the ensemble dance company's new Fundamentals of Balinese Dance master classes. The dance classes will be taught on October 11, 18, and 25 from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at Keystone Studio, located at 252 West 30th Street, Bell 4B, New York, New York.

BALAM, a New York City-based company, is celebrating its 35th season. The company offers a new vision of contemporary dance by combining ballet, modern and diverse cultural dance styles from around the world and historic periods with Balinese theatre. BALAM Resident Balinese Artist Nani Devi, a celebrated performer from Bali who has toured and taught throughout the world, will provide expert Balinese dance instruction that enhance a performer's and avocational dancer's physical expression.

Students will discover another culture's skilled movement patterns and experience masculine and feminine archetypes. They will learn how to develop three-dimensional hand and arm movements, acquire fierce eyes, present a mysterious, sweet smile, and much more.

No previous dance experience is necessary. Class size is limited. Fee: $15 per class. For further information and to enroll in the class, call 646-361-9183.
