The SAN PEDRO - TRI ART Festival is a free family event on September 27-28 featuring dance, music and crafts in Ports O'Call Village on the waterfront. The festival is still seeking dance company submissions. Details below!

This will be its 8th year, the 4th at this beautiful outside location. Last year we were awarded our first Department of Cultural Affairs, City of LA, Festival Grant (it has a roll-over into 2014's festival) and a CPV grant from the CAC. This year there will again be an honorarium for professional companies.

See more about last year's festival at www.triartSP.com.

To apply: See our website or email: Louise Reichlin, Dance Director and Producer

Early deadline: June 30. Final deadline: July 15.

1- Name of company &/or choreographer.

2- What you would like to perform.

3- Digital press packet / video link of work if finished, or representative of your work.

4- If it is a new work, include projected music / themes.

5- If you performed last season, let us know interest for this year, and submit a different work.

This is for an outdoor marley covered stage approximately 32 x 28 feet. Each set will be 10-30 minutes. The programs open with 2-3 pre-professional groups each day, so we'd like to hear from schools also. The turn out on each day was several thousand over the days events. We anticipate good coverage for the event, both before and after.

The festival is a special project of Los Angeles Choreographers & Dancers, Louise Reichlin Director. We hope to host many of you again, and excited about new groups and works we haven't seen. To clarify, all professional dance companies will get honorarium based on length of set, and pre-professional groups will again open the programs as a showcase. There will also be a series of free previews in different locations.

This year, as last, our partners include Alvas/ Matt Lincir, Spirit Cruises and Ports O'Call Restaurant/ Jayme Wilson, LA County District 4/Don Knabe Supervisor, and LA City District 15/ Joe Buscaino, Councilman, and Rickenbacker Guitars. New media partner is Joshua J. Stecker, San Pedro Today, and producing partners include Jan Kain, Peoples' Place, Rick Conkey, Blue Water Green Earth, and Greg Neethling, FreshBoks Music. Our company has also been awarded an LA County grant for an intern who will spend 1/2 of the full time position on this project.

Is Your Company Listed in the So. CA Dance Directory? The Southern CA Dance Directory that I began in 1995 is alive and well with over 566 listings of professional dance companies and related organizations. This free service is accessed by thousands of people each month, and I've heard that dance jobs have often come about through the information! But....if the wrong email or phone number is there, it's up to you to contact us and it will be fixed, usually within 24 hours. If you are not there and would like to be, please email the information in the format that is there. This is a special project that is a labor of love - no grants funds involved - so if you want to use it, help keep it up to date. You can reach us at 213-385-1171 or louisehr@LAChoreographersAndDancers.org.
