The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall is proud to announce that it has once again been ranked as the #1 Performing Arts Hall in North America in the 2000-seat category of "top spots" in Venues Today, the leading international trade publication that covers the business side of entertainment.

This is the fifth time that the Van Wezel has claimed the number one spot! Hundreds of theaters are compared and contrasted on performance and event grosses. The city-owned and -operated theater has come a long way: once dependent on city subsidies the Hall has subsequently boasted a substantial surplus for a number of consecutive years.

Last season was highlighted by performances of world-renowned soprano Renée Fleming, super stars Daryl Hall & John Oates, Broadway sensations Kristin Chenoweth and Josh Groban not forgetting our Broadway headliner The Book of Mormon. This year's season is shaping up to be one of our best yet with ZZ Top, Daniel Tosh, Jay Leno, Steve Martin & Martin Short, Billy Crystal, Dave Chappelle, Kinky Boots, Twyla Tharp, Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Lily Tomlin and many more!

We are thrilled with the success of our beloved Hall and strive to keep bringing Sarasota the best in entertainment!
