After four sold-out engagements at 54 Below last year (and a quick summer stint on Fire Island), boozy chanteuse and New York drag star, Miss Vodka Stinger makes her triumphant return to "Broadway's Living Room" this June with a brand new show celebrating that keeper of the kitchen, that mistress of matrimonial bliss: The Great American Housewife. Join Vodka and her two happy homemaking backup singers, The Martha Rayes as they embark on a musical journey of domestic proportions, June 20th, 11:30pm @ 54 Below. Musical director, Mr. Frank Spitznagel will be at the keys in his smoking jacket and slippers, while the ladies of the house serve up a Jerry Herman and Harold Arlen casserole with a side of creamed Bacharach, a basket of Studs Terkel, and for dessert, a Bobby Russell/Nellie McKay baked Alaska. Rooted in the rich, eclectic nightclub culture of 1950's/60's New York City, Vodka and her Martha Rayes hearken back to the nightlife of yesteryear when you could see a baby Barbra Streisand at The Bon Soir on West 8th street, Kay Thompson in The Plaza's Persian Room, or Dorothy Loudon at the Blue Angel on East 55th. Equal parts standards and esoteric special material, this nightclub act is 53% Tupperware party, 41% key party, and 6% Donner Party.
