Transylvania mania comes to Atlanta Lyric Theatre, as the metro area 's only professional musical theatre company presents Mel Brooks' hilarious musical comedy YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN now through November 8, 2015 at the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre (548 S. Marietta Pkwy., Marietta). BroadwayWorld has a new batch of production shots below!

Based on the Oscar-nominated smash hit 1974 film, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is the wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Mary Shelley classic from the comic genius of Mel Brooks. When Frederick Frankenstein, an esteemed New York brain surgeon and professor, inherits a castle and laboratory in Transylvania from his grandfather, deranged genius Dr. Victor Von Frankenstein, he faces a dilemma. Does he continue to run from his family's tortured past, or does he stay in Transylvania to carry on his grandfather's mad experiments reanimating the dead and, in the process, to fall in love with his sexy lab assistant Inga? Unfolding in the forbidding Castle Frankenstein and the foggy moors of Transylvania Heights, the show's raucous score includes "The Transylvania Mania," "He Vas My Boyfriend," and an unforgettable treatment of Irving Berlin's "Puttin' On the Ritz."

Googie Uterhardt stars as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein with Alison Wilhoit as Inga. Austin Tijerina and Marti Melle Lindstrom play the iconic roles of Igor and Frau Blucher. Blake Burgess plays The Monster. They will be joined byAlan Kilpatrick as Inspector Kemp and Harold, the blind hermit, and Mary Nye Bennett as Frederick's fiancée Elizabeth. The company also includes: Jason Cohen, Fenner Eaddy, Brittany Ellis, Arielle Geller, Avery Gillham, Joe Harris, Jenna Jackson, Imani Joseph, AJ Klopach, Pablina Lopez, Barbara Macko, J. Koby Parker, Becky Simmons, Chase Todd, and Casy Walker.

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN features a book by three-time Tony Award winner Mel Brooks and three-time Tony Award winner Thomas Meehan and music and lyrics by Brooks. Lyric Artistic Director Brandt Blocker directs YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, with choreography by Ricardo Aponte and Jennifer Smiles. Musical direction is by Paul Tate and BJ Brown.

The production team for YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN includes three-time Tony Award winning set designer Robin Wagner, four-time Tony Award winning costume designer William Ivey Long. André C. Allen is the lighting designer, Jason Polhemus is the sound designer, hair and wig designer is George Deavours, costume coordination is byAmanda Edgerton, production management by Brian D.
