Deadline reports that as he did in 2012, Louis C.K. is set to take another "extended hiatus" after Season 5 of his show LOUIE. During the network's executive session, FX CEO John Landgraf announced that Louis C.K. "is anxious to take a break and wants to focus on other things". C.K. is prepping a movie and his company has two upcoming series for FX, created/co-created by C.K., comedies BETTER TOGETHER starring Pamela Adlon and BASKETS starring Zach Galifianakis.

A return date has not been set for the comedian, Landgraf saying that "it will be his choice." The CEO compared LOUIE to Larry David's CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM in which David makes new seasons on his own timetable. Louis C.K. previously took a two-year hiatus after Season 3 of LOUIE, it is not known how much time he will take before development begins for Season 6.

"I hope LOUIE lasts 20 years," Landgraf said, noting that there are no end game plans for the praised comedy.
