On Thursday, October 22nd, 2015, the innovative Brooklyn theatre company Threadbare Theatre Workshop will kick off its inaugural season with the opening performance of ?or, The Whale?.

Threadbare Theatre Workshop is a Brooklyn-based theatre company whose primary mission is to illuminate epics in a simple way through the magic of resourceful storytelling? laying bare our humanity so we may thread more empathy into existence. Threadbare aims to become one of Brooklyn' s leading incubators of new work and community engagement; fostering connections with local environments to celebrate the richness that can come from sustainable collaborations.

Inspired by Herman Melville' s classic ?Moby Dick?, Threadbare Theatre Workshop' s production helmed by founder and artistic director Kate Russell, is a modern day, thoughtprovoking ensemble piece set aboard the Lehigh Valley Barge #79, listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. The production honors Threadbare' s mission to "illuminate epics in a simple way" by engaging an extraordinarily diverse cast of eight actors to unearth this timeless story with movement, talent and imagination across the Brooklyn waterfront.

or, The Whale? is presented in partnership with the Waterfront Museum, founded in 1985, with a mission to promote historic preservation and meritage heritage and to be an active voice for public waterfront access issues up and down the river. "The Museum' s mission to engage the public in issues related to waterfront accessibility and Threadbare' s hopes to cultivate sustainable artistic practice makes for great communication engagement and an especially meaningful collaboration to kick off Threadbare' s season," said Elena Chang, company manager of Threadbare.

"We welcome the epic and the grand myth and the bold" said Kate Russell, Founder and Artistic Director for Threadbare Theatre Workshop. "We now welcome all New Yorkers to experience the work that has been created through Threadbare' s sustainable practice and experience a great American classic in a new way."

Performances are Thursday, October 22nd thru Saturday, October 24th at 7:30pm with an additional Saturday matinee performance at 2pm at Lehigh Valley Barge #79, Waterfront Museum, 290 Conover Street, Brooklyn, NY 11231

Tickets are $18, and are available at ? http://threadbare.brownpapertickets.com?
