Ashmanskas, Dinklage, Dishy, Doyle Cast In KNICKERBOCKER At at Williamstown

Artistic Director Nicholas Martin will open the 2009 Nikos Stage season directing the world-premiere of Knickerbocker by Jonathan Marc Sherman (Women and Wallace, Sophistry, Things We Want) playing July 8-19.

The cast includes Brooks Ashmanskas (Tony Award Nomination - Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, The Ritz, She Loves Me), Peter Dinklage (The Station Agent, The Chronicles of Narnia, Things We Want), Bob Dishy (Tony Award Nomination - Sly Fox, The Price), Rightor Doyle (The Nosemaker's Apprentice), Annie Parisse ("Law & Order," Becky Shaw), Susan Pourfar (The Singing Forest, Swimming in the Shallows), and Reg Rogers (Tony Award Nomination - Holiday, The Understudy).

The design team for Knickerbocker includes set designer Alexander Dodge, costume designer Gabriel Berry, lighting designer Philip Rosenberg, and sound designer Alex Neumann. The production stage manager is Jillian M. Oliver.

"Are you ready?" The question looms over Jerry as the months tick by and his unborn son grows from the size of a peach to the size of, well, a baby. As the birth date creeps ever nearer, will the advice, encouragement and warnings of friends and family make Jerry more or less ready? The awe and terror of becoming a new parent shines through Sherman's newest comedy as he examines whether one can ever truly be ready for parenthood.

In other WTF news, Bradley Cooper, scheduled to appear in the Main Stage production of Sam Shepard's True West, has had to withdraw due to personal reasons. Additional casting will be announced shortly.
