On Tuesday, September 12th, over 50 theater companies will come together in the Cyclorama at the Boston Center for the Arts to share information, schedules and offerings for the upcoming 2017-2018 theater season - and many will be offering discounts, promotions, prizes and giveaways. The Fifth Annual Greater Boston Theater Expo: 2017 offers a free, convenient and efficient way in an Expo-style/marketplace setting for theater artists to check out theater productions from their favorite companies and explore new organizations. With over 50 companies spanning the Greater Boston region, individuals will be able to meet representatives and artists from the region's fringe, small, mid-sized, and large theater companies, get information about upcoming productions, and take advantage of Expo-only ticket offers and giveaways.

The 2017 Greater Boston Theater Expo will convene on Tuesday, September 12th 5-8pm at the Boston Center for the Arts Cyclorama, 539 Tremont St, Boston. Registration is FREE for individuals, though RSVPs are highly encouraged. For additional information and to RSVP, go to www.stagesource.org/GBTE17. Follow on Instagram, Facebook, or on Twitter using the hashtag #GBTE17.

This event is produced by a committee dedicated to supporting, promoting, and raising the profile of Greater Boston's vibrant and gifted theater community. The committee includes leaders from StageSource, ArtsBoston, and a diverse group of theater organizations.

"On a typical Friday night during the theater season, Greater Boston theater audiences have a choice of nearly 40 different theatrical productions from Portsmouth to Providence," observes Michael Maso, Huntington Theatre Company Managing Director. "But because of our geographic disparity, it can be easy to overlook our scope, scale, and economic impact on the region. The convergence of more than 50 organizations at the Greater Boston Theater Expo will be a reminder of the theater community's breadth, variety, and vitality."

Founded in 1985, StageSource provides leadership and services to advance the art of theater in the Greater Boston and New England region. Our mission is to unite theater artists, theater companies, and related organizations in vision and goals that inspire and empower our community to realize its greatest artistic potential.
