ACT Teen Conservatory to Present RENT School Edition, 1/24-26

The Academy of The Company Theatre (ACT) Teen Conservatory presents the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical RENT School Edition, Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25, 8 pm; and Sunday, January 26 at 3 pm, at The Company Theatre Centre for the Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell, MA. RENT School Edition's book, music and lyrics are written by Jonathan Larson. The production is directed by Sally Ashton Forrest and Jordie Saucerman, with music direction by Michael Joseph.

A beloved rock musical set in New York City's East Village, RENT School Edition is based loosely on Puccini's La Boheme, resulting in a pop culture phenomenon. The emotionally stirring story follows a year in the lives of a community of young artists, all struggling to live and celebrate life through memorable songs proclaiming "No Day But Today". The young bohemians negotiate their dreams, loves, and conflicts, providing the narrative thread to this groundbreaking musical. RENT School Edition has mature themes, and may not be appropriate for young children.

ACT was founded in 1987 by Zoe Bradford, Michael Joseph and Jordie Saucerman, with a mission to discover the creative spirit in each student in an enjoyable and challenging atmosphere and to build self-confidence through the experience of the arts.

Tickets for RENT School Edition are $15.00. For a complete performance schedule, to order tickets, or for more information, call the box office at 781-871-2787, email boxoffice@companytheatre.com, or visit www.companytheatre.com. The box office is open Monday to Friday from 11 am to 6 pm, and during all performances. Free parking is available on site, and the theatre is handicap accessible.
