Improvised Scene Productions has developed a screen story (a.k.a. "treatment") that has gotten great feedback from both within and outside of the Hollywood film community. "Betty Brown for President!" is a comedy like nothing else you've ever read and provides a blueprint for a brilliant satire on American politics. "Betty Brown" imagines that a series of outrageous, yet logical, circumstances conspired to propel the unlikely candidate "Betty Brown" to the presidency 40 years ago, in 1976. This story has been compared favorably to the creations of the Coen and Farelly Brothers by many who have read it.

THE STORY SYNOPSIS:

It is the summer of 1973. Senator William "Billy" Brown, an Independent from South Dakota wants to right the wrongs of Watergate and his performance at the Watergate hearings has made him a rising political star.

Betty Brown is Billy Brown's wife. She is in her 40s but looks ten years younger. She served as her husband's legal counsel and sat behind her husband at the Watergate hearings, advising him legally and making her something of a celebrity with her "Hollywood" good looks. Betty wants her husband to be the next President of the United States in the coming election of 1976 as she believes the country needs an independent man who can lift the country out of the political gamesmanship with which the two party system has gridlocked the USA.

Other key characters include Clancy Babbit, a 35ish mama's boy who is blindly patriotic and supports President Nixon without question. Clancy lives with his mother, Marjorie Light, who is a 55ish feminist who embraced the hippie/free love movement a decade before and transformed herself from a typical "housewife" to an "earth mother". During the first act, we learn that Marjorie has a younger boyfriend who is a Native American Shaman. Improvised Scene Productions has developed an amazing story that, while it's set forty years ago, is even more relevant today.

"Betty Brown for President!" is a satiric comedy-fantasy about America electing its first female president back in 1976! If you think the current election year is crazy, Betty Brown provides a blueprint for a brilliant film satire on American politics from the minds of its Second City-trained and Comedy Sportz-experienced creators.

A Super Pac has not yet been established for this candidate, so Team Betty is currently in fundraising to bring this story to you by using Crowd Rise, the world's #1 fundraising site for charitable and personal causes started by Ed Norton.

AND, get this, 10 % of all proceeds collected will benefit Bring Change 2 Mind, an organization founded in 2009 by Glenn Close which is dedicated to ending the stigma associated with all forms of mental illness in our society. "Betty Brown for President!" is proud to partner with this amazing organization.
