Boise Contemporary Theater last week launched an Indiegogo fundraising campaign to support partial production costs for the upcoming World Premiere of BCT River Prize fellow Eric Coble's MARGIN OF ERROR (OR, THE UNASSAILABLE WISDOM OF THE MOUSE AND THE SCOPRION), which runs April 13 - May 7, 2016. This is the final Mainstage show of the BCT 15|16 Season.

MARGIN OF ERROR introduces us to Harold Carver, the greatest political strategist the nation has ever known. But he's running four floundering campaigns, his personal and professional life face cataclysm, and he has no one to help him but his wide-eyed intern, Daphne, all while stranded at Gate B16 in the Boise Airport. MARGIN is a no-holds-barred dramatic comedy about how we choose our elected officials (and every other product) in this winner-takes-all world.

MARGIN stars two local actors, BCT veteran Richard Klautsch (The Pillowman and I Have Before Me a Remarkable Document Given to Me by a Young Lady From Rwanda), and newcomer to the BCT stage, Veronica Von Tobel, and is directed by BCT Founding Artistic Director Matthew Cameron Clark. Will Ledbetter serves as Scenic Designer/Technical Director, Peter John Still is Sound Designer, Lighting Designer is Raquel Davis, Darrin Pufall is Costume Designer, Props Master is Willow Socia, Paul Miller is Master Electrician, and Tim Long is Sound Technician. BCT Resident Equity Stage Manager Sarah Kelso is assisted by Shaila Schmidt.

BCT River Prize fellow Eric Coble is the author of THE VELOCITY OF AUTUMN, which had its world premiere at BCT in 2011 and went on to Broadway, starring Academy Award winner Estelle Parsons.

The BCT River Prize is an annual fellowship in its inaugural year awarded to support a playwright in developing a new idea through the writing and workshop process into a full premiere production. Every play travels a unique course, beginning from the idea at its source. The River Prize provides the resources and openness to see where that course will take us.

Of being awarded the River Prize, Eric Coble says, "It's a rare and wonderful thing to be commissioned to write a play. It's even rarer and more wonderful when it's for a theater you know, trust, and are eager to work with again. And it borders on miraculous when not only is that theater promising to produce your play, but is providing extra time to get the play exactly right. The BCT River Prize gives us a week to test stuff out, hear the script out loud with the actors, director, dramaturg and stage manager, to experiment and hone. And, vitally, this week of experimentation will happen months before the official rehearsal process, when there's still time for such hammer and tongs work. This exceptional gift shows the world that BCT is committed to new plays for the American stage, and (even more impressively) that BCT knows what it takes to get those plays on the stage: time. I couldn't be more grateful for the theater and the River Prize."

The current Indiegogo campaign was launched last week to help support production costs to professionally stage the world premiere of MARGIN. The goal of the campaign is to raise $15,000 by March 24; that total covers less than 25% of total production costs. Ticket sales and other contributions that have already been made to BCT will cover the rest of the production budget. Perks gained through contributions to the Indiegogo campaign include being named as a supporter in the program, a private pre-screening of a dress rehearsal, an original script signed by Eric Coble, a cocktail party with cast and director (this perk level is SOLD OUT as of press time), and a private dinner with playwright Eric Coble and director Matthew Cameron Clark. The community can donate to the Indiegogo campaign on the BCT website at www.BCTheater.org/season/margin_error, or directly at: www.indiegogo.com/projects/help-bring-eric-coble-s-newest-play-to-the-stage#.

MARGIN OF ERROR previews April 13 -15 at 8 pm, and opens Saturday, April 16 at 8 pm. The production runs through May 7, 2016, with performances Wednesday - Saturday evenings at 8 pm and Saturday matinees on April 23, 30, and May 7 at 2 pm. Tickets are $18-34, and $16 for students with valid ID for all performances. Tickets may be purchased online at www.BCTheater.org, or by calling the BCT Box Office at (208) 331-9224 x205, or in person at 854 Fulton Street in downtown Boise during Box Office hours. The BCT Box Office is open Monday through Friday from 10 am - 2 pm, and for two hours before every performance.
