I am graduating soon (ahhh!) and am in the process of finding a job in advertising/PR. I have done numerous Google searches and am already aware of companies like Serino Coyne, Barlow Hartman (yes I realize it is closing) and Boneau/Bryan-Brown. Does anyone know of any more company agencies I can look into that specialize in performing arts advertising/PR/marketing? Something that I might be missing in Google...
Thanks!

Unless you have an internship under your belt, there is practically no way (unless you're from Harvard or another Ivy League school) one of these firms is going to hire you. Good luck!
Thank you for the good luck wishes. I have had past marketing internship and leadership experience. And it is important to have experience no matter what school you are from.
Thanks defyinggravity. Yes, I read that they are splitting off into their own projects, hopefully one of them will hire.
Maybethistime: I actually contacted SpotCo, and have yet to get a response. Thanks!

I hate to have to be a voice of realism here, but when jobs open up at the big firms, they often tend to promote from within. If you think you're getting hired at one of the "big three" PR firms right out of school in this economic climate, you've got another thing coming. If you're just finishing school now, start with either applying for internships with these big companies, or looking into the smaller ones -- there are many of them! And you will probably learn more working with a small company than you will working in one whose main draw is its title.

For the record, I have several NYC internships under my belt AND an Ivy League degree and am still job-hunting a year out of school. And while I'm not looking in PR and advertising, in general, it's not that automatic. Especially now.
Yes, I am aware that they tend to hire from within often at these major firms and I am trying to look at some smaller agencies. Hopefully things will pan out over the next few months. Thanks!

I'm in the same field as you are, except I have one more year of college left. Keep looking and don't give up hope. I'm sure you have already done this, but ask your previous managers at your internships if they have any recommendations or advice for you. Best of luck to you, and as most people in this business realize, it's all in who you know.
P.S. Congratulations on graduating!
