Sunday and Monday are the first days this spring of the "At This Performance" concerts series. If you've never gone, it's an awesome way to see the understudies in a show perform some of the show's songs, as well as a song they choose. I've gone to almost all of these concerts and a great chance to see the understudies who you normally don't get to see on stage (but are lucky if you do!!). And it's a lot of fun!

Here are details from the press release:
Performers scheduled to perform on Sunday, March 9th include Cicily Daniels (Understudy for the role of Ursula in The Little Mermaid), Dena Digiacinto (Understudy for the roles of Bebe, Connie, Diana and Kristine in A Chorus Line), Emily Fletcher (Understudy for the roles of Sheila, Judy and Val in A Chorus Line), Lyndy Franklin (Understudy for the roles of Maggie, Bebe, Kristine and Connie in A Chorus Line), Jeff Kready (Understudy for the roles of Louis/Billy Webster/Bather, Franz/Lee Randolph and Soldier/Alex in Sunday in the Park with George), Matthew Labanca (Understudy for the role of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein in Young Frankenstein), Aaron Ramey (Understudy for the roles of Aaron Fox and Daryl Grady in the Broadway production of Curtains), Brian Shepard (Understudy for the role of Igor in Young Frankenstein), Laurie Wells (Understudy for the roles of Donna Sheridan, Tanya and Rosie in Mamma Mia!) and Briana Yacavone (Understudy for the role of Nessarose in Wicked).

Performers scheduled to perform on Monday, March 10th include Ashley Arcement (Female Swing in the Grease), Beth Curry (Understudy for the roles of Brooke Wyndham, Pilar and Margot in Legally Blonde), Michelle DeJean (Understudy for the role of Roxie Hart in Chicago), Brian Charles Johnson (Understudy for the roles of Moritz and Georg in Spring Awakening), Kate LoPrest (Understudy for the roles of Clio/Kira, Euterpe, Siren, Thetis, Erato, Hera and ‘40s Singer in Xanadu), Eryn Murman (Understudy for the roles of Wendla and Ilsa in Spring Awakening), Coleen Sexton (Standby for the role of Elphaba in the National Tour of Wicked), Bret Shuford (Understudy for the roles of Prince Eric and Flotsam in The Little Mermaid), Chelsea Morgan Stock (Understudy for the role of Ariel in The Little Mermaid), Andrew Varela (Understudy for the roles of Jules/Bob Greenberg, Boatman/Dennis and Mr./Charles Redmond in Sunday in the Park with George) and Andre Ward (Understudy for the roles of Sonny, Calliope, Aphrodite, ‘80s Singer, Hermes and Centaur in Xanadu)

Sunday, March 9th and Monday, March 10th at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre, 2162 Broadway, (above the Promenade Theatre- Broadway at 76th Street), 3rd Floor at 8 PM. Tickets are $20.00 each and are available at SMARTTIX [phone].

Dena DiGiacinto actually plays Bebe now. She replaced Krysta Rodriquez was she left back in January. And Lyndy Franklin doesn't cover Connie anymore, she now covers Judy instead.

I was really upset back in October when I saw Roger Bart's first show back in YF after his injury, and am even more so after seeing Matthew LaBanca last night - he also sang "Race You to the Top of the Morning" brilliantly. Jeff Kready was amazing too, and I loved his story about running into the wall after "What Have I Done?" his first time on as Valjean. Truly an incredibly talented set of performers, I hope to be as entertained tonight!

ACL2006, Stephen mentioned that during the show.

I absolutely love these concerts, and had a great time last night. I was excited to see Aaron Ramey, as he's now in Matt Farnsworth's track in CURTAINS, and he did a great job. I'd love to see him go on. I also thought Jeff Kready was absolutely adorable - his voice was fantastic, and his "Sarah" from THE CIVIL WAR was heartbreaking, especially when he had tears streaming down his face. Also have to commend Matthew LaBanca and Brian Shepard doing "Together Again" - with all the times I've seen this show, I was still laughing at the jokes because they performed it in such a funny and fresh way. I wish they'd go on together. And Cicily Daniels is fierce and I want to see her as Ursula!

Can't wait until tonight. I'm not feeling so hot, but I'm going to try my very best to make it.

Did anyone at the 3/10 show video tape? A friend of mine was in it and I tried to video tape her so she could see it, but my camera crapped out

Any help would be WONDERFUL!
