I met the writer of Brooklyn today in the Village. What a neat person. He invited me to a press event Thursday. Has anyone gotten Mark's autograph yet? I forgot too.

How did you go from not knowing anything about Brooklyn, to having met the writer and getting invited to a press event, in less than 24 hours?

Here's a helpful link to the thread you created yesterday.

I was going to ask the same questions...thanks Amy. Although I do hear the dude is very nice.

The shilling of FRANKEN is so painfully obvious I almost can't be bothered to point it out. Sweet Jesus.

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

That does it. Long ago I promised myself never to look in on a thread with the words WICKED, CHENO, KRISTEN, IDINA, or MENZEL in the title. Now I'm adding BROOKLYN and BKLYN to that promise. The first just got to be ridiculously boring. The shilling in the second is despicable. I may have wanted to see that show before, I definitely will pass on it now.

Look you guys. If somebody happens to bump into somebody in the basement of the Christopher Street Bookshop and they get to talking and they both like each other and one guy invites the other to a press event and it turns out to be the creator of a new show you hadn't heard about until yesterday, well, it IS a small world, you know. I think you are all afraid to close your eyes and dream and fly across a rainbow sky.

Namo rocks! Sad thing is that the show is clearly in trouble and has to stoop to such blatant shilling on this site. Always a bad sign to begin with. Can anyone say "Horsey"? Didn't help on the ever popular Broadway.com board (a.k.a. Boycott.com) when they were desperately shilling Urban cowboy either. I must say, the "I met the writer and got invited to a press event" line is a step above (or below) the usual shilling.

Note to Boneau/Bryan-Brown. I'll never buy a ticket to this show because your shill tactics are really annoying.
And, Jeff Calhoun and John McDaniel--shame on you. I love your (collective) work, but...

Wow - champion shilling. Except...not. Too obvious. Shilling that turns people off is defeating its own purpose. Go away.

I've really been looking forward to this show and I already have my ticket, but all this shilling makes me not want to see it anymore just to spite the shillers.

I ran into Eden Espinosa in the laundry room of my building this afternoon. She was sitting on a dryer smoking an unfiltered cigarette in nothing more than a bra and a half-slip. But she was really nice! She invited me to her Labor Day Barbeque.

That is so funny! Eden was passed out on the floor of my bathroom when I got home this afternoon. She OD'd on something, but I got her to tell me all about the show and it sounds AWESOME!

Well then... that explains why she never made it to the Barbeque!

No...Eden is here in Denver. I just saw he going into the Denver Civic Theatre, where it all began for Brooklyn, to get some inspiration for her upcoming debut on B'way. To feel the original vibe. She is then going to go up into the Rocky Mountains and run across a field singing "The Sound of Music" in a long dress! (OK...I am not usually sarcastic on these boards, but I just couldn't help this one!)
