Currently rehearsing for his F. Scott Fitzgerald musical "The Beautiful and the Damned", John Barrowman will open in the show mid-June in its world premiere in Guildford, pre-West End. But John won't be going to the West End with it immediately.

He shoots a role in the Kevin Kline Cole Porter-story film this summer and then returns to the London stage in his starring role in the National Theatre's production of "Anything Goes" for its transfer to the Drury Lane in mid-September.

He had promised Trevor Nunn that he would do the "Anything Goes" transfer, so the F. Scott Fitzgerald project has to be just an interim one. If it gets picked up for the West End immediately, it will lose John and have to recast the starring role.
