Sorry if this sounds stupid but I'm not 100% sure if I know what rush tickets are. I'm going up to New York next week to see an evening show but was hoping to see a matinee for a low cost. I'm under the impression that rush tickets are just the ones that the theater hasn't sold by the day of the show. Does that mean if I arrive to the theatre the day of I can buy the tickets they haven't sold online for their rush ticket price no matter the original price?
No. It varies show to show where the seats are located, but they are generally seats specifically set aside for rush. You aren't going to be getting unsold premium seats, for example.
