I will be going on tour this spring to Libraries across Nassau and Suffolk County talking about my passion for theatre. I plan to share the history of the Broadway playbill, my extensive playbill collection as well as the 101 on stage dooring and how to see shows for under $50 a ticket.
If you are interested in where I will be, feel free to email me at bigshow274@aol.com.
This must be exciting for you! I myself want to take a revised version of my 54 Below show on tour, so any pointers you pickup would be terrific. Beware...critics can be vicious...but the important thing is to really believe in the message you're spreading. Best of luck! :)
Thanks Annie for your reply. Sorry for the delayed reply, I thought the moderator deleted this post, so I posted on the more appropriate off-topics board.
It is VERY exciting and my tour starts in just a few weeks! It does not cost anyone to attend, nor do I get anything for getting people to register. I just want to share my passion and enthusiasm for theatre with fellow Long Islanders and encourage them to take advantage of Broadway which is just a train ride away. There are people from across the US and Internationally who schlep all the way here just to see 1 show, while may Long Islanders I know rarely go since they are not aware what is playing as well as the high costs.
Feel free to private message me. I am interested in hearing about your 54 below show. I am aware of the criticism that might come my way, but do not think I am an expect on this topic and only have positive intentions of sharing the knowledge I have obtained these past years.
Stop number 3 on my tour is TOMORROW at the Amityville Public Library!
Also for those who collect Playbills I recently posted over 300 Playbills I've collected along the tour on the "Trading Broadway Playbills" page of Facebook if you are interested.
