Went to see it today. Overall it was an amazing performance. A few technical issues with sound but otherwise really great performance.

And when the show ended the cast talked about raising money for broadway cares. One way to make a donation was 75 a person for a backstage tour. My daughter and I did it, and it was amazing. I definitely recommend if anyone sees this production and it is offered.

Caught the show twice while it was here (I had purchased tickets to see it and then a friend gave me tickets as a gift).  It was my first time seeing it on tour and while I missed all the trap doors and the larger set, overall the tour doesn't disappoint. Amanda Jane Cooper is outstanding as Glinda, one of my new favorites in that role. Her scene work in the later scenes is particularly impressive- she brings a certain gravitas to them that a lot of actresses miss. Fred Applegate and Isabel Keating, as you would expect, are both wonderful.  Both times I went I had an understudy for Fiyero, and it was a different understudy each time (though oddly enough both had the same first name- Anthony). Both were very good. The first time I saw Jessica Vosk as elphaba I was a little bored by her. She was serviceable, but her voice sounded a little tired. When I went back the following week, however, she was outstanding. I think the first time I just caught her on an off night, because she really brought it the second time.

They have one more week here in Orlando. I'm tempted to try the lotto one night.
