Has any Broadway show ever opened on a Friday or Saturday night in recent years? Seems like most shows open Sunday through Thursday with Thursday being the most popular night.
We'll probably see one or two in the last month before nominations. Only one Broadway show can open on any specific day to avoid overlap (as regulated by the League), so the last two weeks especially tend to have opening most, if not all nights.
Thanks. That's why I was asking. I've heard there are a few hopeful shows eyeing to swoop in this season (even though it seems very late in the game). And I noticed that the last possible opening night date available that wasn't a Friday or Saturday or Easter Sunday was Thursday April 12.

But if you thought your show was ready to go and you could pull the trigger... would you wait a year or take the only day available, even if it were a less than desirable day?
