Excited to see my son perform in his first B'Way show on Friday. Had a few suggestions. 1) Act 1 a little too long -could cut Old Man part in half and still effective. 2) Needs a much better prop of the comet for the ending. All eyes on it...something worthy of the name.
The show simply blew me away with its actors, stage, sound, and excitement. Everyone did such a great job! It fealt as if the show had been running for a year. Kudos to the stage production crew. There isn't a bad seat in the theater! I was sitting lower Mez and a little to the left of the center stage. So cool how most of the actors spent time nearly at all locations. I really enjoyed watching the audience as much as the actors - the reactions especially from those sitting on the stage - almost fealt they were part of the show! I loved some of the improv especially when the guy wouldn't move his seat - when Lucas shoved him aside with his butt - we all laughed. What can you say about Denee! Angel from heaven! Loved Gelsey part - great great voice and really got into the role. Amber so cool! Could go on and on...the whole ensemble crew - my god! the level of energy was amazing. I'll be going a lot more times and so will my friends!
It's not being an asshole, it's bringing up a valid point. Especially for such little to say in general.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
It's how you convey a message directed at someone who is relatively new to the board. Why must we make people feel as if they are inferior just because they are not familiar with how the board functions.
I appologize for being a bit naive on board etiquette if anyone was offended...I simply wanted to share my thoughts and love for a beautiful show, cast and crew. I just joined today and had not looked at the tempo of the comments.
There's nothing to apologize for. We all are here because we love theatre, and some people feel the need to govern how others do things on the site. Personally, I'm glad you made a separate thread, because this would have been buried in the 180+ replies on the original post.
If you don't mind me asking, who's your son in the cast of Great Comet?
I'd love to answer your question as a very proud parent, however; with all due respect for his privacy...will quietly step back on this one.
Let's make the focus on the show, and thanks to the creative team for bringing The Great Comet to Broadway and the unbelievable cast and crew. NOSTROVIA!
