It seems like they added the 11/7 performance due to the elections on the 11/8, which has no performance. So, they're not doing 17 shows in a row but still it'll be 9...
What are the Equity rules about additional performances and notice to cast?
It's not an extra performance. They changed the date from Tuesday to Monday - as did many other Broadway shows - because Tuesday is election day and they want people to vote, instead of going to the theater. It's just one of many shows to do this.

That's all well & good, but it just doesn't seem like the cast knew about it. And it's still a day more than their usual week of Tuesday to Sunday. What if cast member had plans for that Monday?
It just seems wrong for them to find out via social media than their management.
Yes, it is weird that this is how many of them found out....but perfectly within the productions "right". They might not have known about Election being a night off, either. Does anyone know if this election night off is a cancellation or simply never an option?
My guess is, that the decision was made just yesterday, (for both election day and this change) and they didn't want to wait to get the word out so they could sell as many tickets as possible....since not everyone from Tuesdays show will be able or willing to go on Monday.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
