I've heard some REALLY good buzz for this show, and I see it is closing next week. Does anybody here have any experience with it? It's a bit pricy, but I'm leaning towards getting a ticket.
"I never had theatre producers run after me. Some people want to make more Broadway shows out of movies. But Elliot and I aren't going to do Batman: The Musical." - Julie Taymor 1999
I saw it a couple weeks ago and am still thinking about it. Highly recommended!
It's this fascinating blend of a one-man show/philosophical discourse/magic act. Although there are relatively few magic tricks in all, a couple of them were about the most mind-boggling things I've ever seen.
Although it's pricey, you might try Goldstar (which has had it off & on) or Google to see if there are any other promo codes available. (Mine was 1/2 off through TheaterMania, I think.)
I've seen the show twice, and I may see it yet again before it closes. I agree with the Shepherd - while short (just over an hour), a few incredible things happen during the course of the show. I also drove across LA immediately after the show to get a memento (those who have seen the show will know what I'm talking about). There are various discounts available, and there are occasionally rush seats at the box office. Call them for more info and availability. I've talked to dozens of people who have seen the show, and they all either liked or loved it.
I saw it in it's first week. It was okay.. definitely not worth paying $80+. I got rush and only paid $10 with my student ID. They only let a couple of people in at a time so that's how he knows what card you got in the end.
