I've used the app TodayTix to buy tickets to two shows, Beautiful and Matilda. Both are "concierge" which means they had someone outside give me my tix 30 minutes before showtime. It worked fine for Beautiful, but at Matilda there was a problem. I brought the tix to be scanned and the woman said "You didn't buy these from us did you?" I panicked and didn't know what to say, so I went back out and told the concierge man what had happened. He exchanged my tickets and it worked fine.

My daughter and her friend are seeing the opening night of the SpongeBob musical and due to unforeseen circumstances they would like to buy new tickets from the app, but I'm scared the tickets won't work and she won't be able to see it. Does anyone know if there is a policy if the tickets don't work, or how often it doesn't work?

Yes it's definitely reliable! :) I've used it 4 times and have never had a problem. 2 of those times I picked the tickets up from one of their reps outside the theatre (the other 2 were lotteries where you pick up at box office). I also know a bunch of friends who use the app and never have any problems either.

I buy most of my tickets through TodayTix and have never had a problem with them. They report having a >99% guarantee you will get your tickets, so your event must have been an isolated incident.

I will also vouch for TodayTix. Not only reliable, but I've always found them to have good costumer service if I need to contact them about an issue.

Also, if a single person posts a freaking discount code in this thread I am going to report it to the mods immediately.

Yes, it's perfectly fine.

All TodayTix does is use existing discount codes (or partner with shows for exclusives), and then buy tickets from the box office to hand to you. That's why there's a $10 per ticket fee - you're paying for their time to buy the tickets, and to hand them to you outside.

Also, if I'm wrong about ^^^^ do correct me, but that's what was explained to me by people talking with TT to partner with them.

Why your Matilda tickets had a problem likely just a coincidence. I'm actually surprised the TT rep COULD just simply exchange tickets for you. Wonder whose tickets you were given, or if they have a few extra on hand when possible for last-minute sales?

I've used the app a couple of times and always get great seats and never had an issue with tickets being unreliable.

Yes, this is incorrect. Shows work directly with TodayTix to list inventory on their app.

I think they're reliable, I just don't think they offer any prices that (with their fees) a box office can't match and probably give you a lower price.

I'm a big fan of Today Tix for the convenience and time savings although their prices aren't anything special. . I use the app all the time and have never had a problem. Since I often go alone to shows I've gotten some really great seats.

Thanks for the correction! That is definitely not what I was told. Or things changed over time. Either way - thanks!

Point remains - no reason to think they are unreliable.

I'm pretty sure the shows they concierge do not partner with them, which is why you pick up your tickets with them and not the box office. The shows they sell which have you pick up at the box office ARE partners.

Even if they do not have an official partnership with most Broadway shows, I would definitely say they are reliable. I've also found the $10 fee they charge per ticket to be slightly cheaper than the fees of Telecharge and Ticketmaster. Of course, those sites let you choose your exact seats, which for some may make the extra charge worth it.
