Hopefully it will get good notices. My wife and I thought it was quite good and Langella deserves a Tony nod for it.

NBC NY is ?positive? in what's a bit of a non review:

"The three-time Tony Award winner -- currently on FX’s “The Americans”  -- brings trademark versatility to the role, alternating from aggressive, to lucid and charming, then insecure and infantile. Langella’s mercurial performance surely will be relatable to any audience member who has spent time around a person with dementia.

As Anne, Erbe (the likable “L&O: Criminal Intent” vet, who was often foil to an emotionally volatile detective), is down-to-earth and unaffected. Anne always seems like a real person, and so it’s easy to sympathize with her conflict about leaving her father."

Mostly positive given the subject matter. All glowing notices for Langella.

Even as a very young man, I found it tremendously difficult to watch. I can't imagine how it is for MTC's...um...extremely mature subscriber base. That's not a comment on quality. I thought it was one of their strongest offerings, and I hope Langella wins best actor.

Imagine how hard it is for Langella to do this 8 times a week at his age. Kind of puts to shame those much younger ( whoever it may be)who find it necessary to less than 8.

^^^ and to those using earpieces.  Langella was amazing.

The show did such a great job putting you into Andre's mindset.  Not the best play I've ever seen, but it resonated for sure.  A great portrayal of family dealing with dementia/alzheimer's.

I think these reviews might have (rightfully) sealed Langella's 4th Tony win.

SO happy this has been so well received. Any other people who could possibly take the Tony over Mr. Langella?

Mark Strong is also a strong possibility for A View From the Bridge and Jeff Daniels for Blackbird could also sneak in there.

Bentley was pretty spot on with his review. Frank gives a wonderful performance, it is well directed and the way the play is structured feels very fresh. On a lighter note, if Frank happens to flub or forget a line no one will be the wiser.

Who would know if he did?  The flashing lights that happen periodically have been explained.

I saw this tonight. My grandfather passed away not long ago and had dementia. This hit me like a ton of bricks. Langella is completely brilliant and I thought the writing impeccably portrayed a difficult subject.

When at the end we saw that the man and the woman were from the hospital, everything made sense as to why he kept seeing them as different people.

It was heartbreaking and I hope Langella wins a Tony.

This and Eclipsed were definitely my two favorite plays this season. Between those two, King Charles III, and the Humans, there were some incredible new plays this year.

Sadly the good reviews does not appear to be helping at the box office. The subject matter is a hard sell no matter how good  Langella and he is very good.
