I have to admit that this show, when it was produced on Broadway a few summers back, it wasn't fully on my radar. Well that all should change, as I found this show so incredibly witty, smart and led with a truly stellar performance by Sean Hayes.
Once again, Joe Mantello touch is the golden one - and this show has polish, depth, production design and the power of a great actor in the lead role, I mean, could a role be any more leading than that of God?
Highly recommend. Get tickets and enjoy - and thank you Center Theater Group for saving us from boring worn out bus and truck tours and presenting this fantastic new piece of theater. A surprise - and one of the best things I've ever seen at the Ahmanson
I had no interest when it was on Broadway, but as soon as Sean Hayes was announced, I grabbed tickets. I saw it two nights ago and found it very enjoyable. He was in top form. The set was oddly beautiful in its simplicity. The subject matter was interesting, funny and thought provoking and only dragged a little. I assume they updated some of the material to include relevant topics (Donald Trump among them). Grab tickets.
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.
