I see the new dates for She Loves Me and was wondering if it's possible that tickets will be available for purchase maybe closer to time? I called and there wasn't much info yet, I guess. I know they're usually VIP sort of things but I was wondering because I think a few BWW members have attended opening nights. Thanks!

PS If nothing else, I may buy a ticket for the last preview or first performance, post-opening since I'm in town that week.

Follow them on Facebook and Twitter, if they release opening night tickets, they usually will post there first.

For an opening night, I would recommend starting about a week before the date, then checking a couple of times a day.  I attended the opening night of Cyrano de Bergerac with Kline and Garner, and I was able to get great seats a week before.  We sat across the aisle from Ben Affleck.

I have gotten opening night tickets to OTHER DESERT CITIES and LADY DAY AT EMERSON'S BAR & GRILL. Neither show had tickets available for that day this much in advance. For DESERT CITIES I got tickets about a week before, for LADY DAY they didn't become available until the day before (two at most, I forget now). Also, for LADY DAY I had to get them at the box office.

I couldn't recommend attending an opening night performance enough. The electricity in the room, at least for these two plays, was palpable and the performers seem to really feed off of it. I'll never forget watching Audra McDonald open LADY DAY, it's one of the most special memories I have.

I attended the opening night performances of The Heiress, The Realistic Jones, The Audience, Finding Neverland, and, most recently, Spring Awakening. But, that's only because they made tickets to the opening night performance available to the general public. I know that tickets to the opening night of Sylvia next week (October 27) are available to the general public.

"Mostly, I loved the size of these people's emotions. Nobody has emotions this size anymore. Outsized emotions. Operatic emotions. Kushemski and Vanda are like Tristan and Isolde, they're Paolo and Francesca. Nobody's in total thrall like this anymore. Nobody's overcome by passion like this, or goes through this kind of rage."
