I know it's been stated on here before, but I was at her concert this past week, and she sang a song from Idol that's a Broadway song - forgot the name - but she killed, as usual. Before she sang she said she's absolutely doing Broadway, but wants another child first. So that's exciting.
The song was Stuff Like That There. I was also there. She KILLED throughout that entire show. I am absolutely in awe of her. I'd welcome her on Broadway with open arms.
I was surprised at how little "money notes" she sang. But I mean, who in the world could sing all those songs every night as written? She's still amazing, and when her backup singers sang "Bang Bang" and then she came in. I mean, c'mon. There's a reason she's a star.
I may be in the minority with this, but I was impressed by how much I liked the way she sounded on "All I Ask of You" with Josh Groban. I don't think Christine Daae would really be HER role, but ya know.
I love her album Piece by Piece and think its songs would make a great jukebox show (blasphemy!).
I think the person who suggested her as possible Roxie was being sarcastic. To be quite truthful, she is not the right body type for the role. She might make a good Mama Morton.
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
No, no. Nothing in Chicago. I don't think she'd go into an existing show. Although Jennifer Nettles did. I just think she has more to offer than all that. Although she has said she's not a great actress, so I think she'd be doing it more just to knock it off her bucket list, which I'm totally okay with. And yeah, her "All I Ask Of You" was pretty amazing. I didn't think Groban sounded that great though.
Bjh were you at the Friday show? Curious to know what her "request" was for Thursday.

"Carson has combined his passion for helping children with his love for one of Cincinnati's favorite past times - cornhole - to create a unique and exciting event perfect for a corporate outing, entertaining clients or family fun."
I guess the fixed Kathleen Marshall helmed MOLLY BROWN that the wonderful Beth Malone did in Colorado isn't fixable. But that would be ideal if the show worked.
She should probably do a new show, and not risk comparisons. But please, anything other than CHICAGO.
Sometimes I think the Weisslers keep a black lace dress at all the NYC airports for celebrites passing through.

Kelly strikes me as a true entertainer. Much like Nettles and Reba, I don't think she would mind going into a long running show if she wants to cut her teeth on Broadway. I think fit would be most important to her. Kelly is very down to earth and I think any ensemble would like working with her.
I also think there is less pressure when you are slipping into Chicago or replacing rather than opening a new musical that rests on your shoulders and star power.
