I feel really sorry for Carolee Carmello, she has done everything but never started in a long running hit.  I think she is amazing actress .

"Addams Family? Mamma Mia?"

Adams Family was not that long running, and she did not start in Mamma Mia

I'm sure she appreciates your public expression of pity deeply.

Never feel bad for a working actress.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

13 Broadway shows, 3 Tony nominations, Drama Desk Award winner, happily married with 2 kids.  Just heartbreaking.

By "break out of the mould" do you mean the "mould" of being a Broadway leading lady? I don't imagine she's eager to break out of that "mould."

What a coincidence. I was just listening to the 1994 Jekyll & Hyde concept recording when I saw this thread.

What mold? (I think in the UK it's mould so I'm figuring this is what you mean?) She's stunningly talented and regularly working. She seems very happy.

Carolee has an incredible career, for which I'm sure she's grateful. I highly doubt she pities herself.

She was in Mamma Mia on and off for like 4 years, did a full year in Addams Family, 10 months in Sister Act, a year in Urinetown, and got to do Kiss Me Kate on Broadway and in London (and was on the DVD release).

Her greatest artistic triumph, I grant you, was a flop, but her performance as Lucile is very fondly remembered.

She has stated numerous times she doesn't consider herself above being a "replacement," which is one of the reasons she works as often as she does.

For someone who said her career goal was to work for IBM, I'd say she's done pretty well for herself.

Her performance as Florence in the national tour of Chess stands out in my memory.

She is one of Broadway's leading stars.

She doesn't break out of the mold, she creates it.

Your question/point is asinine.

Loved her in Hello Again.  She can really act a song.

Many many people love her.

Well, that was actually Rachel York on the DVD.
