The demise of Downton may have something to do with the BBC screening the Poldark reboot in the same slot. I can barely remember the original but this is turning out to be good fun. Captain Poldark certainly knows how to treat his servants properly: thrashing them, throwing buckets of cold water over them and "guiding" them with the side of his foot.

None of the benevolent, patriarchal crap you get from my noble Lord Grantham.

Policies at Scripps Towers to be changed forthwith.

I'll put this on my list of shows to watch. 95% of the shows I watch now are British. American tv stinks.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Poldark has mine owners and Gypsies and t'moors ond feuds and t original ad h'cxcents tick as mud.

I'd druther have a remake of the Onedin Line. Now that was a great mix of the lows and high borns plus a few fabbo sailing ships.

I am really looking forward to this--and, due to how busy I am right now I actually will watch the US broadcast. I have never seen the well-regarded series, but I did read the first few novels when I was 10--I remember my grandma who I would stay with every Summer had what seemed like all of them. Glad to hear that you think its decent, Scripps!

I remember Angarhad Rees as Demelza in the original. She will be a hard act to follow.
