Shatner Disses Nimoy

Shatner is burning his bridges with the surviving members of the Star Trek cast

He is in Florida doing an event with the Red Cross the day/ night before the funeral. He apparently cannot get on a late flight so he could attend

To diss Nimoy like this is unforgiveable.

Yes, because honoring a commitment to charity event rather then attending a funeral is dissing someone. I am sure Nimoy is as pissed as hell! Not to mention most people find Shatner to be a dick and don't want him to be around.

They had a very on/off relationship over the years, according to Nimoy's memoir - they were never bosom buddies or anything.

You do not become life long friends with everyone you work with although, for all I know, Shatner and Nimoy may have become just that. I have missed the funerals and memorials of many dear friends because of work and have never felt that they would hold it against me. It certainly doesn't qualify as a "diss" and, having known Nimoy, I am sure he would agree.

Exactly Wilmington! I personally, find Shatner changing his plans and flying out there more of a PR junket his publicist requested. Shallow and superficial.

They are both of the Jewish faith. If he misses the funeral he can still attend the shiva and yes my skinamarinks that DO count.

Just finished watching a Man From U.N.C.L.E. starring both Shatner and Nimoy prior to Star Trek. Believe the station is doing a Nimoy tribute.
