I've noticed in reading about new tv shows that lately they've been using the adjective "single camera." What is the reason for stating this? It makes me think of a student director with a handheld camera. Is single camera just trendy or is there a specific purpose for it?

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Yeah all TV dramas are single camera. Multi camera shows,(usually three) are your standard Sit-Com / Variety Show. Can pretty much be edited live from the control room (like SNL). I believe it was Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez where the ones who pioneered the Three camera technique.
