I'd be interested to read a technical explanation of what's going on here and why some people recognize the "true" colors faster than others. In my household, two of us saw white & gold first, but then saw blue & black after about 10 minutes; one person saw blue & black from the start; and one person saw white & gold and still only sees white & gold a couple of hours later.
When I saw it, there were three dresses shown, so it was no fun. Not dumb at all. I taught an entire lesson plan on how we see color. The students were fascinated.
I went back and looked at the original single dress. I saw gold and pale blue.
I see pale blue and gold. I don't know how anyone gets black from that which is crazy. Does that mean that when I wear black, some people see me as wearing gold?
I always saw blue. I first saw the black then I wasn't 100% sure if it was black or brown or bronze. It never really looked gold there. I see black again today.
And buzzfeed's poll had 71% seeing the white and gold to only 29% black and blue. So, it depends on who you personally spoke to or what you looked at.
